Your Ada Test Bot is your secret weapon in ensuring your answer flows are crisp, clean, and accurate, as it allows you to test your answers before making them available to your customers.
There are two ways to access the Test Bot. The first is via the Test Bot button in the upper right hand corner of your Ada instance, and the second is the Test Answer button within an Answer.
Test Bot Button
The Test Bot button is always available in the upper right hand corner of your Ada dashboard header. Clicking it will launch the Test Bot, allowing you the ability to interact with the bot as your chatters do, replicating their experience and testing out your flows.
Test Answer Button
The Test Answer button within an Answer is a great option when you are creating child Answers, as it allows you to test that specific Answer within your Test Bot, without having to navigate through complicated Answer flows to access it. Once an Answer has been saved, you will have the option to click the Test Answer button to launch your Test Bot and automatically load the Answer you were interacting with in the Answer editor.
Test Bot Functionality
Upon launching your Test Bot, you will have the option to click on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner to access the Test Bot’s settings. Modifying any of these settings will apply to this Test Bot only, and will not impact the Test Bots of other Bot Managers within your organization.
Toggling on the setting Include all hidden answers in testing, will allow you to test any answers that are hidden from active chatters.
Toggling on the setting Play sound for incoming messages, will alert you to new messages.
Once you have finished adjusting your Test Bot settings, clicking on the arrow in the upper left corner will return you to your Test Bot.
To interact with the bot as your chatters do, type your question in the field that says Ask me something, and press enter to see how your answers render in the chat window.
Clicking the refresh button will reset your Test Bot in alignment with your chatter persistence settings. More on that is available here: Chatter Persistence (Remembering Conversations)
To share the Test Bot experience with colleagues, simply copy the URL address at the top of the Test Bot.
When you are done testing and ready to return to your dashboard, simply click anywhere outside the Test Bot to exit.
